Wondering what an HVAC tune-up costs? Nationally, a professional tune-up or inspection typically runs somewhere between $75 and $200 per visit, depending on your area and what's included. That's a small number compared to what it protects: your system is likely the most expensive appliance in your home.

What you should get for that price: a real tune-up isn't a quick glance. It should include cleaning key components (like the condenser coil), checking refrigerant charge, testing electrical connections, capacitors, and safety controls, inspecting the blower and airflow, clearing the condensate drain, checking or replacing the filter, and verifying overall performance. An inspection-only visit covers the testing and evaluation without the cleaning.

Why it's worth it: studies and manufacturers agree that regular maintenance lowers energy use, reduces breakdowns, and extends equipment life. Skipped maintenance is also one of the most common reasons manufacturers deny warranty claims. One prevented breakdown — or one extra year of system life — pays for years of tune-ups.

The best value is almost always a maintenance plan rather than one-off visits. Our Energy Savings Agreement (ESA) bundles two seasonal visits a year — cooling in spring, heating in fall — with priority scheduling, so it costs less than booking separately and you never have to remember to call.

Reinhardt Heating and Air provides thorough, honest tune-ups across Lincoln, Gaston, Mecklenburg, and Catawba counties. Ask us about the ESA and keep your system running like new.
